The program has been introduced along with featured events, pioneering phenomena, and inspiring topics of the times in higher education. Through open and deeper conversations on innovative concepts and practices, the program highlights and reflects the transformational direction of teaching and learning.

1. The theme and outline

The talk will focus on “Challenges and Opportunities in AI-Powered Classroom Teaching”, including but not limited to the following topics:

1) AI-powered classroom teaching with examples in computer programming courses

2) Challenges on teaching styles in the AI-powered classroom

3) Opportunities with AI technology in engineering education

 

2. Organization

It takes the form of a seminar with 10-12 round-table seats and 15-20 SJTU audience seats at large.

 

3. Eligibility for Application

1) Experience in teaching innovation

2) Minimum 2 years of teaching experience

3) English proficiency required

 

4. Time and venue

Time: 12:00-13:00, Mar. 13rd, 2025

Venue: Room 505, Chen Ruiqiu Bldg, Minhang Campus, SJTU

Jigang Wu
Associate teaching professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Michigan - Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute
He teaches courses on computer programming, optics, and senior designs at the Joint Institute. His research interests include computational optics, holography, and biomedical optics with focus on clinical applications.
